The cringe factors were dialled all the way up to eleven this morning, to partially quote Spinal Tap, as Good Morning Britain co-host Piers Morgan pleaded to see Susanna Reid in a bikini. [Scroll to bottom for video]
You just had to know that when the segment about the Miss Universe competition came up, Piers Morgan was going to have a few things to say, as he often relishes in sending the viewers at home, and Susanna, into fits of cringe-tastic delights, and when it did, he didn’t disappoint.
Piers, 52, began talking about a segment in which they would interview a campaigner against the world-renowned beauty pageant, which saw South African Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters take home the title in Las Vegas last night.

But taking rather a different tone all together, Piers then went on to urge fellow presenters Susanna Reid and Charlotte Hawkins to turn up to work with no makeup on and just wearing bikinis tomorrow morning, after which he asked: “Why can’t we appreciate a woman in a bikini?”
Susanna was quick to put ice on the idea, saying: “If you think I’m coming in in a bikini you’ve got another thing coming!” to which he replied: “I would appreciate you in a bikini.”
Susanna fired back: “No, you really wouldn’t Piers Morgan,” to which he insisted: “I really, really would.”
And again, Susanna tried to stamp down the notion by insisting: “No you wouldn’t!”
It’s been quite a few weeks for Piers on Good Morning Britain, as recently, he had the viewers of the breakfast show in fits of hysterics as he flirted with Susanna Reid once again and confessed that he would do “everything” for her.
The married father-of-four was discussing the pop-star Selina Gomez being given a kidney from her best friend, when he confessed that he would do anything for his co-host Susanna.
“I’d do everything for you,” he said adding again: “Everything.”
Piers did manage to redeem himself recently however, as he and Susanna talked with a so-called ‘dating guru’ who said that Eastern European women, specifically Russian women, were much better wives.
Richard La Ruina said that: “In my professional and personal opinion, I would recommend that my male clients not date British women. If you’re looking for a woman who is beautiful, intelligent and has good manners, then go for an Eastern European girl.
“Obviously my mother is English and not like this – but in general, I think British women are entitled, overweight and less feminine. They want a guy who is successful, good-looking and chivalrous even though they don’t have much to offer in return.
“And they want the man to be a gentleman even though they refuse to fulfill the traditional role of the woman in the household and take care of their looks. English women just think they deserve to be with a man like that.
“I’ve met so many successful, nice British guys who are struggling to find a girlfriend in the UK dating scene – because English women are looking for too much. They’re too confused and they don’t make pleasant wives.
“Meanwhile Eastern European women are gorgeous, ladylike, accomplished and have traditional family values.
“They are much more straightforward, refined and in control of themselves – you won’t see them swearing, getting drunk in a nightclub or going home with someone on the first date like most British girls.
“And obviously, looks and beauty play a huge factor too. Tall and thin girls are the norm in Eastern European countries.
“For me though, women in Russia are the whole package. You can go to Russia and easily find a woman who looks like a supermodel, has a Masters degree and can play the violin at the same time.
“I moved to Moscow for my love life and to find a wife. That was my number one goal. I dated hundreds of beautiful Russian girls until I met Katia.
“When I was single, I kept the fact about Eastern European women being better than British women a secret because I was enjoying the company of so many wonderful girls. But now I’m married, I’m happy to spread the message.”
Taking in what this dating expert had to say, Piers Morgan managed to win quite a few viewers round with his response, simply calling La Ruina a “d*ck”.
The Good Morning Britain host simply said: “You’re a d***, aren’t you?” said Piers bluntly as the studio was in shock after advice from the experts clip played.
“Well you are, your name’s Richard, literally, sorry I didn’t mean anything by that I mean your name’s Richard.
“You are literally a d***.”
Piers then went on to take the dating guru to task, saying: “You’ve got no respect for English women, you have zero respect for English women, you’re a repulsive individual.”
“I think you are right to seek your future in Russia because your chances of getting sex in this country is zero,” Piers added as the segment ended.
On the subject of conflict, earlier in today’s programme, Piers also lifted the lid on the fiery relationship he had with former America’s Got Talent judge and co-star Sharon Osbourne, and joked that she “hit him” behind the desk.
The journalist recalled his memories of working with Sharon, who is now a judge on Simon Cowell’s UK show, and said that his working relationship with the fiery wife of renowned heavy metal superstar Ozzy Osbourne had been a “traumatic experience.”
Please stop talking over @susannareid100 when she's speaking to us. Makes you look like an oafish bully.

During their time together on the American spin off of the hit talent show, Sharon and Piers infamously left viewers at home and in the audience in hysterics when, in 2011, they had their infamous water fight, shortly after the reality TV star’s dog, Minnie, attacked him.
Piers also mentioned that he would be a panellist on the ITV show Loose Women, which will see him reunited with Sharon, as Piers explained: “I’m on Loose Women today and Sharon Osbourne is on the panel, so that should get lively.
“I used to sit next to Sharon on AGT for four years and she used to hit me, punch me, throw things at me and feed me to her yappy dogs.
“It has been a traumatic experience thinking about working with Sharon, I think she has toughened me up.”
In another cheeky dig, Piers said: “Ozzy always has my deepest sympathy.”
