Ant and Lisa announced their plans to divorce on January 13 this year, with Ant’s spokesman confirming the news to MailOnline, saying: “In response to the recent speculation in the media, Ant is very sad to announce that, after 11 years, he is ending his marriage to Lisa McPartlin.
“Ant asks for privacy at this difficult time, for both himself, Lisa and their immediate families. No further statement will be made.”
Ant McPartlin was seen shedding tears at the side of the Britain’s Got Talent stage as auditions took place, which led insiders to question Ant was finally starting to show the emotions of his split with wife of 11 years Lisa Armstrong.

Ant, 42, was comforted by long time best friend and co presenter Declan Donnelly at last week’s London auditions when a magician named Mark spoke about his wife and daughter who both have cancer.
A show source said: “Ant got very emotional, which was unusual. This story seems to really strike a chord with Ant.
“We wondered if the pressure has finally got to him? Was he letting out lots of tears about more than just this story.”
Last month Ant and Dec scooped a host of National TV Awards and afterwards Ant was close to tears as he said: “It has been quite a tricky year for me.”
These reports come after old pictures of the makeup artist – who has worked on some of the biggest TV shows – were uncovered, giving all of us the nostalgia feels.
Some of you younger readers may not know or remember this, but back in the 90s, Lisa Armstrong had her sights set firmly on stardom, and was part of a four-piece band Deuce.
In the stunning throwback picture, a young and fresh-faced Lisa was just 18 when she joined the pop band, after being discovered by East 17 manager Tom Watkins.
The group came together as friend of Lisa and lead singer Kelly O’Keefe with Armstrong as well as fellow singers Craig Robert Young and Paul Holmes.
The fresh faced singing group landed several top 30 singles, with their debut song Call It Love reaching number 11 on the UK singles chart in 1995.
For the pop act, the dream as to head to the Eurovision Song Contest, as they dreamed of success with their track I Need You. However, they failed to impress and eventually lost out to Love City Groove.
Before their eventual split in 1997, they had another top 20 single and released their album On The Loose, which charted at number 18 on the UK Albums chart.
And it was at one of her concerts in 1994 that she met her eventual husband Ant McPartlin, as they put on a show at the Newcastle Town Hall as she belted out their hits while Ant was also enjoying singing success with Dec as part of the 90s classic PJ and Duncan.
The road began in 1994 and ended after 11 years of marriage earlier this year, as Lisa has been spotted on social media liking supportive messages and tweets from fans amid her public divorce proceedings with Ant.
The makeup artist favorited posts from a whole host of fans that said they supported her, with one hinting that Ant may be even “hiding something.”
Lisa had liked a slew of posts from fans on her social media pages, and even shared a fiery message that appeared to take aim at the TV presenter.
A source spoke to The Sun and said: “She’s been using social media very subtly to reveal how she really feels — and the truth is beginning to creep out.
“She had been determined to carry on as normal but now feels totally cut out from her friendship circle.
“They’ve shared the same friends for years but it’s become obvious who they’re all siding with – especially Dec and his wife.”
Recently a fan tweeted Lisa saying: “after 2 years coming off prescribed pain meds my hubby took the back lash, the moaning, the mood swings, the full crap but 18yrs of marriage, loyalty and LOVE& were still together, I think Ant is hiding something or someone so sorry huni “.

In return, Lisa ‘liked’ the tweet, which no doubt struck a chord with her due to Ant’s previous struggles with painkiller addiction for which he was treated last summer during a stint in rehab.
The make-up artist also favourited a tweet from a fan that read: “Your unconditional love & support made A who he is” shortly before re-posting a fiery message stating: “Get up and get your s**t together”.
And the show of support for Lisa went on – as well as the backlash for Ant, with one user suggesting that Ant will have regrets over their split, the tweet continued: “Easy to think you don’t want UNTIL you don’t have.. Never Be Another You”.
The tweet accompanied a picture of a quote that read: “I’m not like other girls. That’s where you made your first mistake.”
Conversely, It was just two days later that she liked a tweet saying that presenting duo Ant and Dec had picked up the Best Presenter award at the National Television Awards.
Lisa also took to Twitter to retweet the motivational quote which described people as being either “puddles” or “oceans”.
Lisa seemed to find a great deal of comfort in the words, which came from a fan who tweeted her, saying: “5 years ago I was where you are now… My wee mantra. Got me through…chin up girl you got this x [sic]”
The quote read: “Life is going to get hard sometimes. So get the f**k up and get your s**t together. You’re either an ocean or a puddle. Don’t be a puddle. People walk through puddles like they’re nothing. Oceans f***ing destroy cities.”
Lisa also retweeted a kind message from a fan, who had described her as a “tough cookie”.
So it seems as though whether the tears that Ant shed at the Britain’s Got Talent auditions were for the magician or his impending divorce, it may be a while before the road ahead is smooth and clear.
