Holly Willoughby always wows fans with her choice of outfits, whether on This Morning, Celebrity Juice, or most recently Dancing on Ice. However, some fans believe that the presenter is being a bit of a ‘show-off’ when it comes to her expensive taste by posting photos of her daily outfits online.
Although she’s known to share her daily styling for her Tv appearances, Holly has now taken things a step further by posting photos of herself wearing much more casual attire before getting glammed-up for her presenting jobs.
While the blonde beauty may be aiming to show a more down-to-earth side, many of her fans have blasted the 36-year-old for wearing and sharing unaffordable pieces that the normal person would never be able to go out and buy.
Last week she posted a photo of herself wearing a rainbow-coloured tracksuit which comes in at a whopping £440. While some have slated her for spending such a large amount on one outfit, others have shown their support by claiming that she can spend her fortune in whatever way she wishes to.
However, Holly hasn’t stopped there and has since gone on to post another snap of herself wearing a stunning knitted ski patterned jumper; a design which grabbed the attention of a large number of her 3.1 million followers.
Many were keen to purchase the sweater, however, the cost definitely caused an uproar. The piece which is being sold on an online retail website is priced at 310 euros, which works out to about £300.
One follower begged Holly to stop posting photos of such expensive pieces due to the majority of followers being unable to afford them: “I love your jumper but it’s €310. Please stop teasing me with lovely clothes I can’t afford!”
“Ye cause we all are gonna spend 220 quid on a jumper and 220 on joggers. Nothing like keeping it real ay.” another fan blasted.
“There’s starving kids in the world ffs and like you say looks no different to anything on the high street.” one angry follower said.
“Omg £220 for the top alone – ‘normal’ folks cant afford that “another agreed, while a fellow follower commented: “£440 for a jogger set. It’s actually a bit sick.”
Many jumped to Holly’s defence and stated that she can do whatever she pleases with her wages, so long as she pays her taxes like everyone else.
“Leave her alone. She has every right to enjoy her success without a jealous p**** like you coming along and giving her grief. I love it Holly and if it was me, I’d buy another for a spare just in case.” one supporter said.
Whilst another backed: “I suppose every penny you have you give to charity do you? Of course, you don’t.”
“How dare you? She earns her money, pays her taxes and can spend her money on anything she likes. It’s got bugger all to do with you.” another fan fumed.
So, although Holly’s wardrobe choices may not be gaining the best attention, her natural complexion definitely did. While wearing her ski jumper, she posed completely make-up free before going live on Dancing on Ice this weekend.
She posted the photo to show followers that her ski-themed jumper was a highly appropriate choice for the snowy weather conditions which Britain faced over the weekend.
“It’s show day! And it’s a snow day! @dancingonice … might need these Ski’s @fusalp #hwstyle.” she captioned the photo.
“So beautifully natural” one user commented.
“How do u look so beautiful first thing on a morning!!! I don’t look that good even when I’m made up and hair done!” another said, before a fellow follower agreed: “‘Perfectly natural beauty @hollywilloughby”.
Another went on to comment on Holly and Phil’s fantastic on-screen partnership on Dancing on Ice: “Looking lovely, as always a great pic. You and Phil are the best team ever you both crack me up and I’d like to bottle your laugh. Stunning inside and out.”
Holly has also been at the centre of controversy in recent months after dropping to a size 10 and losing what many claimed to be her famous ‘curves’.
In an interview with Prima, she stated: “I don’t want to encourage eating disorders. I try not to focus too much on my appearance. As long as I’m being healthy, that’s good enough for me.I’m quite active and I try not to let the way I look be the main focus because it’s not the important thing.”
She also spoke to Lorraine about her efforts on concentrating on herself a little more, now that her three children are growing up: “I think as long as you’re happy and healthy that’s most important,” she told the ITV morning host.
Meanwhile, Holly and Phil will be competing against each other to win the award for the best presenter at the National Television Awards in the next few days, and are also up against Bradley Walsh and Ant and Dec in the same category. Phil exclusively told Hello! Online: “The great thing is that whether Holly wins, or Bradley wins, or I win, or the boys win, it will be an equal amount of tequila. It doesn’t make good odds!”
“I’m amazed because in all the 300 years I’ve been in television, it’s the first time I’ve had a singular nomination, so I don’t expect to win it” he added.
Over the past fifteen years, fans have voted for legendary double act Ant and Dec to win the award, however, Phil told The Mirror that himself and Holly won’t be giving up the fight just yet – but he won’t be building his hopes up too high.
“Nominated for the 1st time EVER in the NTA ‘Best Presenter’ category!” he said.”But as Ant & Dec have won it 16 years in a row, I won’t work on a speech. It could be a tense few weeks ahead for Holly and me. We’ve both found ourselves nominated in the same category at this year’s National Television Awards.” he joked. “We’ve both been shortlisted for this year’s ‘Ant and Dec Award…’”
Holly also added: “It’s so nice to be nominated.”
