Many people felt this was beyond a joke. Graham Norton, the popular TV presenter and radio show host has upset an awful lot of people after his latest TV episode. His chat show is one of the most watched shows on the BBC and attracts many stars. People class is as much watch television either during its airing on Friday nights or on iPlayer via catchup TV.
Fridays episode though has caused outrage with fans of the show due to one of the invited guests that appeared on the show. His famous sofa was occupied by big names from Kenneth Branagh’s hugely anticipated Murder on the Orient Express and one of those actors, Judi Dench, particularly impressed people.
There are a lot of victims of abuse coming out against their famous celebrity tormentors at the moment, so the appearance of Johnny Depp on the show, who has had accusations against him in the past, did not sit comfortably with viewers. Some people thought there were double standards in relation to those accused of abuse.
Johnny Depp’s ex wife Amber Heard, who is an actress and model, was granted a restraining order in 2016. Court documents in relation to the restraining order revealed that Amber had said:
“During the entirety of our relationship, Johnny has been verbally and physically abusive to me.”
Depp has always denied these claims and the pair released a joint statement saying they acknowledged their relationship was “volatile”, but said: “Neither party has made false accusations for financial gain. There was never any intent of physical or emotional harm.”
Graham Norton called out Kevin Spacey in the intro to his show which seemed amazing as Depp himself has been involved in similar claims but sat there on the sofa being interviewed. Many viewers couldn’t watch the programme and some people even boycotted it.
In a period when we're aghast at stories of abuse in Hollywood, why indulge a wife beater like Johnny Depp on the Graham Norton show?

Why have Depp on the show Graham? Especially in this climate. He beat Heather, did you see the bruises? Can't watch the show tonight.

People were even more confused by Johnny Depp’s actions on the show with some people saying he looked high.
Fans turned to Twitter as the man who plays Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean recalled his lifelong dream of dressing as his alter ego at Disneyland an pretending to be a statue there.
Who wouldn’t want to see the real Captain Jack at the attraction that inspired the film series?
His dream turned into a nightmare though as nobody actually believed it was him.
He said: ‘I was very excited to stand rock still and then shout out (in Jack’s voice), “Oi, what you lookin’ at?” I got no reaction whatsoever – nothing! I then had to start describing the people I was shouting at so they knew I was real… it was exhausting and such a bad idea!’
The confusion was probably down to the fact there’s been an animatronic version of Captain Jack for years.
People were unable to concentrate on his interview though.
One social media user said: ‘Johnny Depp looking stoned on #GrahamNorton show.’
‘Johnny Depp appears to have taken ALL the drugs,’ said another.
Memes then started to pop up, commenting on his stoned appearance.
