The X Factor is back this evening with Nicole Scherzinger, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh all returning for a second consecutive year alongside Simon Cowell on the judging panel. It’s no surprise too, with their massive wages surely enough for anyone to sit in front of thousands of wannabe singers.
Whilst the BBC officially revealed the salaries of their highest earners back in July, ITV have never done the same but in 2016 The Mirror reported on the huge sums of cash that the judges receive.
Former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, who chose to re-join The X Factor last year instead of taking up a role in Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s musical Cats, will collect the most amount of money by appearing on the programme – a whopping £1.8 million.
64-year-old Sharon Osbourne earns slightly less for sitting on the panel at £1.7 million, whilst Louis Walsh, who has missed just one of the show’s 14 series, is comparatively cheap at £1 million.
Meanwhile, the earnings of music mogul and head judge Simon Cowell are yet to be discovered but considering the fact that he created and owns The X Factor, and is thought to be worth more than £300 million, it’s safe to say he’ll also take home a hefty pay packet.
Considering that The X Factor is ITV’s biggest show, the big bucks earned by the foursome are hardly a surprise. You can tune in to see more hopefuls try to impress the panel at 8pm tonight.
