Debbie McGee wowed the Strictly judges and viewers at home as she scored four perfect 10s across the board, after performing the tango with partner Giovanni Pernice recently.
In a recent interview, Debbie and Giovanni said that they were mindblown from receiving a bow from villain judge Craig Revel Horwood a few weeks back, before Debbie quipped: I’m used to men being on their knees.”
Whilst many believe Debbie’s dancing ability is down to her professional ballet training, she admitted a few other secrets to ITV GP Hillary Jones, which may have stood her in good stead for the competition.
Talking to Lorraine on the morning show, he said: “It’s yoga, it’s pilates and it’s something that she calls ‘active silver’ which s a colloidal liquid of minute particles of silver which she swishes around her mouth apparently before swallowing.”
Lorraine seemed confused by the revelation, before Hillary added: “Well, silver has been known for years to have anti-bacterial properties but whilst there may be claims, there’s no evidence that it can pick out bad bacteria and eradicate them and leave the healthy bacteria alone.”
Even Lorraine agreed she must be doing something right, stating: “She’s like one of those wee dollies that bends -she’s amazing!”
Discussing her morning routine with the Daily Mail, Debbie said: “I love my food and health supplements,” she said. “I have a spoonful of Active Silver every morning, which builds up your immune system, and omega and fish oil supplements.”
Meanwhile, fans have noticed how close Debbie and professional dance partner Giovanni have been getting in recent weeks and the dance couple are now the favourites to win the show, according to a viewer’s poll.
However, in a recent interview with Bella Magazine, Debbie stated that the pair were no more than friends: “We have a great working dance partnership and we really love each other as human beings, so I can see why people want to say there’s something going on. For a woman of my age, it makes me feel fantastic.

“To be nearly 60 and have people think I’d be having an affair with such a good-looking Italian is good for one’s confidence…
“We have great chemistry and love dancing together. But there’s nothing going on.

Fans were left questioning Debbie’s response as the 59-year-old and her 27-year-old partner shared a cheeky peck at the end of their Paso Doble last week, but Debbie who appeared red-faced after the occurance claimed it was never meant to happen.

“That wasn’t in the routine. In the rehearsal, I wasn’t kissing him so he didn’t expect it”. she told host Claudia Winkleman.
Watching the moment back in a clip, she confessed the moment was utterly spontaneous: “In rehearsals, I just caressed his cheek gently. But then I didn’t realise until I watched it back, I really went for it! It was a bit of a smacker!”
In recent photos captured outside the rehearsal room, the pair were seen getting extremely close, with Giovanni even appearing to pull in Debbie for a peck.
Viewers have been flooding to Twitter to comment on whether the dance couple will eventually make things official. One person tweeted: “Anybody else want Giovanni and Debbie to become a couple?”
Whilst another added: “I’m so loving the rapport between Debbie&Giovanni… I want them to be the next #Strictly romance SO MUCH.”
Another also tweeted: “My bet is still on Debbie and Giovanni for this year’s strictly romance.”
Before another agreed: “I don’t care about the age difference, Debbie and Giovanni would make the best couple.”
It seems Giovanni is also extremely keen on Debbie and claimed he has a special connection with the 59-year-old: “I’ve got the winning partner, not just in this competition, but for the rest of my life.” he said. “Debbie has to be the best person I’ve met in this country so far. She is just amazing.”
Fans put two-and-two together after Giovanni was filmed comforting Debbie, as she got upset over losing her late husband and magician Paul Daniels. During rehearsals, Debbie broke down as she reminisced about the good times of the 28-year marriage: “I am really missing Paul. He would have encouraged me through this and been my support.
“Giovanni and I have really become mates so it was really nice to share my past with him.” as her dance partner held her in his arms.
Debbie’s husband Paul passed away 19 months ago at the age of 77, on March 17th 2016, after being diagnosed with a brain tumour. Discussing Paul’s illness with The Sun, Debbie said: “From diagnosis, he died four weeks and five days later, so there wasn’t time to think about what was happening.
“We just had to get on with the situation and look after him. It wasn’t until after he died, that the huge realisation kind of washed over me. I am out here, on this earth, on my own.”
However, this isn’t the first time Giovanni has been at the centre of Strictly romance rumours. Back in 2015, reports confirmed that he was in a relationship with former Coronation Street actress Georgia May Foote.
Aside from the pair’s alleged budding romance, there were also concerns that Debbie may have to miss the live final of the show, (should she manage to reach that stage) as she has agreed to take part in a panto run at the same time.
Whilst bosses were unsure of the anticipated date, there has now been confirmation that the live final will air on Saturday 16th December. With many worried that Debbie may not be able to take part, reports claim she will be missing a day of panto instead.
According to The Sun Online, a source confirmed: “Debbie will not be performing on the 16th December, however, she will be doing all the other performances from 17th December until 7th January.”
