Big Brother bosses have been forced to deny that current CBB housemate Malika Haqq has been involved in a huge ‘fix’, after some viewers noticed something slightly odd about her choice of discussion.
Malika is best known for being the best buddy of the world-famous Kardashian family, however, many who tuned into the show were left confused when she made a comment about a tweet that Khloe Kardashian had posted just last week – when Malika was already in the house.
Khloe who has been joined-to-the-hip with Malika throughout their childhood asked the advice of her 2 million followers on how she could catch the CBB UK footage in the States, to see how her pal was getting on.
“I am so happy for @ForeverMalika being on CBB but I hate that I can’t watch. I have to know what’s going on in there!! Is she ok? I’m trying to find links! Can anyone help me?” she wrote, before adding: ‘It’s so strange not being able to call Malika and have a nightly gossip session’.
Malika who has been a part of hit shows such ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashian’s’ admitted that she now had plans to cut ties with the famous family upon leaving the house.
In a conversation with fellow housemate and former Coronation Street actress Amanda Barrie, Malika confided that she needed some time ‘alone’ to find her true self.
“It’s been very difficult for me to break outside of working with my sister and my best friend so it’s like taking some of the most aggressive challenges to step outside of myself…and this is something I feel like I need to do. I’m officially here alone.” she said.
In another discussion with fellow housemate Ginuwine, Malika discussed the nature of Khloe’s recent tweet which caused a great deal of confusion amongst viewers who were desperate to know how she could have possibly known what was going on in the outside world. Rumours then escalated that certain information was being leaked into the house.
“My girl had tweeted asking everyone, ‘how can I see (Malika)” she told the US singer.
“I said ‘they’re (Khloe) not gonna go this long without knowing what’s going on with me’. She (Khloe) wants to know everything.
“She told me she would climb through here and I said ‘If you don’t sit your pregnant ass down…'”She said ‘I will come find you’ and I was like ‘honey I will be OK, I promise you'”.
However, CBB bosses were forced to make a statement that housemates are and always have been completely cut off from the outside world, telling The Sun Online: “Khloe Kardashian tweeted on 3rd January and the male housemates entered the CBB house on 5th January, so it is possible that any of the male housemates would have seen the tweet before entering the CBB house.”
One confused fan tweeted: “Own up BB, who tipped Malika off about Khloe tweeting about her #cbb”
Whilst another added: “So apparently Malika has somehow found out that Khloe Kardashian tweeted about not being able to watch #CBB…”
“@bbuk how does Malika know that Khloe Kardashian’s tweeted that?? #CBB #BBUK” another wrote.
Malkia has also been in the midst of a feud with fellow contestant, transgender journalist India Willoughby, but in this instance, viewers have definitely sided with the American reality star.
Andrew Brady bravely performed his drag act of ‘Betty Swallox’ to contestants on Monday’s show, however, India’s alleged ‘phobia’ of drag queens meant that the moment of fun had to be cut short – and Malika wasn’t too pleased.
Flipping out at Andrew, India yelled: “These guys don’t see me as a woman… It’s what you do when you go away, and think in your head”.
In a rage, Malika left the room to comment on India’s sudden outburst: “She just brought up, “Just so you guys know, I feel disrespected and have a phobia of people who dress up like women.” she said.
“Why are you yelling? If you’re going to have a form of conversation, all of us have asked questions and never once has anyone responded in that fashion.
‘Male, female, transgender, gay, bisexual, lesbian — whatever the heck you want to be. Be a zebra. No-one has done that. If I had a phobia, I’m not looking for permission. I’m getting out of there.”
Fans leapt to the defence of Malika who believed that India’s reaction was completely out of order, whilst selfies of India cosying up to drag queens on the outside world circulated on social media, causing outrage that her drag queen ‘phobia’ is entirely ‘false’.
‘That’s the first time I’ve watched #CBB this series and I’ve got to tell ya, that India is a right prat.'” one angry viewer wrote.
“I don’t think I’ve ever witnessed someone act the way India does she is possibly the most unfun person I’ve ever seen, and she literally acts this way FOR no reason at all. She is the ultimate drama queen.” another commented.
A third wrote: “Omg no-one is forcing you to be in the room India, you attention seeker”.
“Everyone has to accept India, but India has to accept no-one?” another viewer fumed.
Before entering the house, Malika admitted she has high expectations of winning this year’s show, during an exclusive interview with The Mirror: “Im mostly looking forward to winning Celebrity Big Brother. Isn’t that what everybody would say?” she said.
“I think I will be the fun housemate. The talkative housemate. The housemate that cries. The helpful housemate. I think I will be a lot of things.”
A source also went on to tell The Sun that securing the reality star for the show has cost the show a huge sum of money, but bosses were aware that Malika’s appearance should draw in large audiences; especially those who had been fans of the Kardashians.
“Not only is Malika friends with the most famous family in the planet, she has become a massive name in her own right.” they said. “Show bosses have paid a huge amount of money to get her and they hope she will be able to to give an amazing insight into life with the Kardashians.”
